Thought I'd make a page for when you're going "I think it was three words long and started with a vowel..." -- that is, when you can sorta maybe recall the style of the title but can't seem to find the fic you're after in any other way. So here's my fics, as sorted by how many words are in the title and then what sort of pattern they make.

Might also be interesting for those who find my style of titling itself to be interesting; I certainly do.

One title shifts as time goes by. This is Unseen Things; that phrase will always be part of the title.

Unseen Things?

It's a group project POI/SCP fusion piece, reimagining the POI cast and story as taking place in a world where the supernatural is commonplace but certain groups go to great lengths to keep the general public from learning about it.

The Fives

My Five Moments of (Nonsexual) Intimacy fic form started with Five Moments of Intimacy: A Demonstration of Form, which later got a follow-up for another fandom in Pepper's Five Moments of Intimacy: A Demonstration of Form.

There's also Five Moments in the Park, which needs a major revamp, but every time I think about trying to mess with it, my mind shies away in cringe. Maybe someday.

Rarepair Speed Dating

The second Fic Form I coined is Rarepair Speed Dating, a chance to mix and match characters and see what comes of it. Despite the title, it doesn't have to be romantic -- this could be a Friendship pairing, a Siblings pairing, a Villain-vs.-Hero kinda thing, or even just two characters who happend to bump into each other while shopping and randomly chat over the produce aisle.

Monthly Prompts

Two of the July Prompts go here, too: July Goes Nuts (my first, 2017) and July Goes Meta (2024).

The Monthly Prompts series from 2018 all follows this pattern, with some variations:

January Promptly Arrives (retitled: Bound to Fall): Harold's been captured by a sadist who's trying to use him to get John. Write a follow-up.
February Soon Appears: Harold and John are in a pitch-black basement trying to evade guards. Write with no visual detail.; Followed up by With Me in the Darkness (13k)
March Comes Barreling In: Harold's locked in a box car with Carter, who's been dosed with a drug that makes you violent.; March got no fills, so it eventually got a darker ending.
April Flounces By: “Mr. Reese. I’m afraid I must ask you to stop that -- immediately.” -- write three variations; April inspired three fics, and so is due for a three-page follow-up.
May Hesitates to Join: “It shouldn’t be a big deal, it’s just that… well… I’ve gotten so used to doing it the other way.” -- A habit that’s become routine gets disrupted.; May got no fills, and was eventually deleted (moved to my website).
June Unexpectedly Arises: Why did John just drug Finch?; June got two fills, and so is due for a two-page follow-up.
July Goes Nuts: I posted my first fan art (Squirrel Reese and Chipmunk Finch), and prompted people to create things in unusual media.; July got five fills, and that met my criteria for choosing a submitted Art Prompt. Hope to get to that eventually.; This started my July Creativity Prompt tradition, including offering votes to anyone who posts a fill by Halloween.
August Zooms In: Pick a character who featured in only one episode, and explore them a little.
September Lets Go (The Plot Bunny Purge): Get rid of any idea you're unlikely to write, in the hopes that someone else might pick it up.
October Feels Odd: Pronoia: The world is conspiring to do good by you (and it's super irritating). My fic has Finch getting "helped" by his friends until he's ready to scream.; Explore an Obscure Emotion, or an Essential Emotions challenge for artists.
November Shuffles the Deck: Use a Storytelling Deck to inspire a fic -- or swap some pieces around in the canon. What if Nathan had survived, instead of Harold?
December Acts Selflessly: Write three Gift Fics: One to a new reader, one to someone who inspires you, one to a reader who doesn't comment much (or at all).
