So, the thing is, Telugu fonts seem to have a large vertical margin between lines. Thus, these fonts may be highly condensed horizontally, but vertically they require a lot of space. Not great for website design with varying line lengths and such. Still, they look nice, and you can pack a lot of material onto a single line.
Note: Not all of the Telugu fonts are collected here, just those with noticeable vertical spacing that makes them not play nicely with nearby entries in the lists.

This is yet another font that seems to have a problem playing near its neighbors. I'm going to see if this is its problem alone, or also a problem shared by Sree Krushnadevaraya. This type of font seems to have some level of extra margin above or below, but I'm not entirely sure what is creating this effect.
With Sree Krushnadevaraya, it's got much the same problem, like giant areas of space between the top and bottom, for some reason. Given that it's meant to be a really condensed font, this kinda bugs me. I also recall reading somewhere in my library books that you can't make negative margins for some reason, though I might be misrecalling that.
With Peddana, I have to wonder if I'm just misperceiving what is there between the two fonts, given that it seems that Suravaram is also doing that up there, so I'll likely be moving that one down here in a minute as well (sigh). What is up with these huge margins?? On the up side, Peddana really can pack a huge amount of text into a really tiny area, so it's got that going for it.
And with Suravaram here, we've got yet another piece with giant margins on the top and bottom; I'm not sure what these font designers were thinking, making them this way, but it's royally annoying because I should be able to set those setting in CSS, not have them concretely in the font itself. Might look up what sort of extra character sets these fonts have, really.
And Gurahada has the same problem: tons of condensed text can fit in an itty-bitty horizontal space, yet the vertical space is left with football fields between the rows. It's really quite irritating and would be troublesome if I tried to use this font for any sort of multi-line writing at all. Though holy cow, can you fit a lot of words onto a single line using this font! Oh man.
